Professional Profile

Femi Ipadeola’s career trajectory, spanning more than two and a half decades, evidences a rich blend of varied and vast professional experiences in the academia as well as the public and private sectors. He has, at various times, had professional exposures as a Lecturer, a Journalist (both print and broadcast), a Public Relations Executive, a Television Producer, Presenter and Newscaster, a Marketing Communication Strategist, an Insurance Risk Analyst, an Executive / Management Trainer, a Public Affairs Consultant and lately, a top-level administrator/executive in the academia as well as the public and private sectors.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Studies at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and later obtained a Master of Arts degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan.

He has also had education at the Lagos Business School / Pan – Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria; Centre for Management Development, Lagos, Nigeria; Institute of Directors, Lagos, Nigeria; The Coaching Academy, London, United Kingdom and has participated in more than seventy (70) Professional Development Programmes within and outside the shores of Nigeria.

Femi has lectured Communication and Organisational Leadership courses at both the University and Polytechnic levels of tertiary education in Nigeria for more than two decades. His pedagogic concentration is focused on the field of Applied Communication, Business Communication, Rhetorics/Speech Presentation, Persuasive Communication, Public Communication and Leadership Theories/Practices.

As an academic, his research activities have been focused on Language Use in in Media Practice; Perception Studies; Organisational Communication; and Audience Motivations / Behaviour.

Additionally, Femi has attended several academic conferences, authored four academic textbooks and has contributed numerous academic articles in reputable journals. He has also served as Editor-in-Chief of his faculty journal, POLYCOMM: Journal of the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, for many years. He has served as External Examiner and member of Accreditation team to some tertiary Institutions in Nigeria. Additionally, He has held top Management /Administrative positions in the academia – He was Head, Department of Language and General Studies, The Polytechnic, Ibadan; Dean, Faculty of Business and Communication Studies, The Polytechnic, Ibadan; Member, Board of Directors, Continuing Education Center, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He has also served on more than thirty-five academic committees and administrative panels and chaired a number of them.

Over the last 15 years, Femi has been contracted as a Motivational Keynote Speaker, Official Master of Ceremony and Executive / Management Trainer by leading organizations, professional bodies and civic groups.

As an Executive Trainer and Professional Speaker, Femi has  had his expertise contracted by leading Multinationals (such as Total PLC and Procter & Gamble); SMEs  (such as Clones & Pumps (West Africa) and Thomas Hudson Ltd); Non-Profits (such as Yoruba Academy and Information Aid Network); and Professional Bodies (such as Nigerian Institute of Management (N.I.M.) and Junior Chambers International (J.C.I.)).

Femi is also a seasoned Organisational Leader.
